Yor Forger Cosplay: Her 3 Spy x Family Outfits
✨ L'essentiel

There are few anime characters whose silhouette is recognizable even before their face. Yor Forger is one of them. Since the arrival of SPY×FAMILY Season 3 on Netflix in April 2026, she has once again become one of the most seen cosplays at conventions — and one of the most misunderstood.

Because Yor doesn't have one outfit, she has three. Each corresponds to a life she leads in parallel: the assassin, the city hall employee, the fake wife. Choosing which one to wear isn't about choosing a color. It's about choosing what story you want to tell — and, very practically, choosing a very different level of comfort depending on whether you're in costume for two hours or ten hours.

Here are the three, what they say about the character, and how to decide.

The Black Dress: Princess Spine

This is the image everyone has in mind, and it's also the most demanding to wear.

Yor's assassin outfit isn't just a simple black dress. It's built around a harness of straps that create a web across the bust and shoulders, fastened high on the neck. The bodice is short, extended by a long, split train lined with red—this contrast is only visible in motion, and that's precisely what makes the outfit so photogenic. Added to this are a golden headband adorned with two roses, long pointed earrings, fingerless leather gloves, and patent leather thigh-high boots with a checkerboard band.

This level of detail has a practical consequence: it's a cosplay to assemble, not to simply put on. Allow time to adjust the harness, and expect the thigh-high boots to become uncomfortable after a few hours of standing.

Choose this outfit if you're aiming for a photoshoot, a competition, or a memorable group photo. It's less suited for an entire day at a convention.

The Green Outfit: The One No One Cosplays (and That's a Shame)

Yor spends most of her time at Berlint City Hall, wearing a four-button sage green vest, an open-collar white shirt, a matching straight skirt, and black pumps. This is her cover, and it's the least worn outfit at conventions.

That's precisely what makes it interesting. In a hallway full of black dresses, Yor the office worker stands out—because it assumes you know the character beyond her iconic image. It's a connoisseur's cosplay, sparking conversation rather than just a glance.

It also has an advantage that experienced cosplayers know well: it's an outfit you can wear for ten hours without suffering. No harnesses, no mandatory high heels, nothing constricting. For a first convention, or for a day when you want to enjoy yourself rather than pose, it's the rational choice.

One detail makes all the difference: the wig. For Yor, it's the long strands framing her face and the wispy bangs that define the character, much more so than the clothing.

The Red Dress: The In-Between

Between the assassin and the civil servant, there is the woman who does her shopping, takes Anya to school, and tries to fulfill her role as a wife. Her red dress belongs to these scenes, the tenderest of the series.

It's also practically the most accessible option: an off-the-shoulder red dress with long sleeves and a pleated hem, worn over black tights, with a white and red headband as the only accessory. Nothing to cinch, nothing to adjust. You can wear it all day, pack it in a backpack, and gradually accessorize it.

This is the cosplay we recommend for beginners. Not because it's less ambitious, but because it allows you to test out the character — the wig, the posture, the way you carry yourself — before investing in a harness outfit. Many cosplayers follow this path in this order, and rarely regret it.

Tip: Since the wig is the common element in all three outfits, it's the purchase that pays off the most if you plan to evolve your cosplay.

Three outfits, three ways to be Yor. The black one for her image, the green one for the daytime, the red one to start — and a special SPY×FAMILY event announced for November 8, 2026, which leaves plenty of time to prepare.
